BEWARE OF THIS PLACE!! This place is a joke. My friend and I wanted to dine here during Sundance. The rude manager asked if we were going to be finish within an hour. While I was looking at the menu, he told my friend that of we weren't, he will come over and kick us out. It was a serious tone, not even jokingly. WOOOWWWW! We should've left right then. I've worked in casual and fine dining restaurants as a server and a supervisor. I've never and would not ever say that to a customer. I could have been a food critic. As we were sitting down, he asked us that question again. I told him that it depends on how fast the food comes out. She said that it depends on the service. It took about 10 mins for the server to come get our drink order and food. Took another 10 mins for her cocktail to come. And our food came out about 5-10 mins later. My tom kha had good a good flavor, but was lukewarm. My pad see ew also had a good flavor, but the noodles were mushy. So we thought we should get up so that they can clean our table because it was a courtesy from the manager for letting us dine there. My total came to $28.33. I wrote cash under the gratuity section. I left a $6 cash tip just because the server was nice. I just checked my bank account. So apparently they like to add their own tip or charge extra after the customer leaves. This is totally illegal. I agreed to pay the amount of $28.33. I will be disputing. I would call the restaurant but I would most likely to the the rude manager. I wonder how he still has a job.

The food is amazing.... The service not so much. We waited an hour to get our food... If I could rate the food, it would have been a 5 star... But since I was with a group of people.. and noticing everyone was getting their food way before us, our table was getting stressed out. I suggest going with a smaller party of 2... They can't handle big parties.. Perhaps in the future. I will go back. But ....

Got takeout out of convenience for dinner because it's located next to where we're staying. Two vegetarian curries + two sides of brown rice = $50. Each of the curries were hardly enough to serve two people. $16.99 each for vegetarian plus $3 for tofu. I have never been to a Thai restaurant that charges extra for tofu on a vegetarian dish. An absolute joke for mediocre Thai food.

Don't do the AYCE Pad Thai at the bar (5-6pm) unless you don't mind super SUPER sweet sauce. They must have added too much sugar or used cheap sauce. Noodles were overcooked. I felt concern while eating. I wouldn't come back here. The bartender is your waiter. We got in at 5:10, didn't get acknowledged (water and orders taken) until 5:30 and food came out at 5:57. No seconds can be requested after 6pm. I wouldn't have eaten seconds anyway... The bartender/waiter was a white guy with a semi-long salt-n-peppper beard. He seemed to be selective with who he was nice to and who he made jokes about (in an insulting kind of way). Business seems to be ok so the owner/s may not care. I wasted $10 and ate maybe 1/4th. I was hoping for better.

Food is pretty good. The service is bad. Appears there's one server per table. And you rarely see the server return. We were literally done eating and waiting 20 minutes for our bill. And waited another 15 min until we just brought the bill up to the hostess. I wouldn't this place. Our server was Liz.
(3)Brian R.
Poor service as we sat at the table for 10 minutes before someone asked to take our order. Then it took another 40 minutes for our food to come out. Very expensive and the food is just so so. Not recommended if you have ever tried thai food from CA. This place doesn't compare.

Great thai food in a more upscale setting than a typical thai joint. Massamam curry chicken (my thai fav) was very well executed. They also have a combo app with satay, coconut shrimp, spring rolls, a giant stuffed chx wing and crispy rice noodles that was huge and tasty. The satay was the app and they don't skimp on the quantity of the peanut satay. Of note, they have a fantastic wine list--the deepest and best I have seen in the Park City area. Granted, most of the giant selection of mature Bordeaux, power cali zins, brunellos, and napa cabs don't make any sense with the thai food on the menu, but you have to respect the collection. I'm not sure I follow other reviewers complaints on pricing. It only costs marginally more than a take out joint and you are getting white tablecloth service in a very nice wood paneled dining room that surrounds a large wine cellar display. Also, our service was very attentive.

I hate writing bad reviews, I really do. But this place is SO over prices, and not good. I found this place on yelp and was sold on the lobster/ mango spring rolls. I ended up getting the spring roll sampler..might as well just go for it right? Wrong. 22$ for one lobster spring roll; which was okay, the crab and apple roll was practically only mayonnaise (and I asked if it was light prior to ordering), and the shrimp was actually pretty decent. My boyfriend got the BBQ pork which was 18$; the pork was good, but the veggies that came with it was really overcooked and had zero seasoning. Definitely reminded me of something you'd get at a cafeteria. I don't recommend anyone to go here. There was a cute little Vietnamese place right around the corner with good food!
(2)Dun W.
Greasy food, horrible service. And they added additional items to the bill which we did not order. Do not come here.
(1)Larry H.
Seared ahi tuna was flavorful with nice noodles. Wife had a kind of pad Thai which was very good. A bowl of soup with coconut chicken was also good. Little inattentive service at times. Nice wine list and we enjoyed the Sauvignon blanc.
(4)Cindy F.
A little known secret...they offer their delish "Pad Thai" in their bar area downstairs for only $9.95 between 5-6 PM during the week...and get this; it's ALL-YOU-CAN-EAT!! NOTE: They'll even prep it VEGAN style for those herbivores that roam among us! SOOO yummy!
(4)Shawn R.
The poor food is only rivaled by the terrible service. We started with dirty plates. The duck was charred beyond recognition. The larb was marginal. We ordered barbecue pork. It was a tough as hockey puck pork chop. There was a pool of oil in the Satay peanut sauce. The chicken was terribly dry. The curry tasted like it was heated in a microwave. We took customers out here. We laughed at how bad it was. I waited 10 minutes to talk to a manager. Finally a different waiter came and apologized. He said a manager would not come out and speak to me. He then gave me the full bill. We paid $135 for food we didn't eat. We then walked across the street and ordered pizza. This is the single worst dining experience I have ever had.
(1)Steven H.
The food was pretty good. We had the green curry, pad Thai, and the honey duck. We also had the angel wing appetizer which was quite tasty. The atmosphere is very small and crowded. You couldn't move without hitting someone at the other table, but it was also very vibrant. The biggest hit was the price. It's completely overpriced. Pad Thai for $20? Even for PC, that is still ridiculous. Overall, it's a good place for your Thai cravings. We would go back unless we could find a cheaper alternative.
(4)Ski Utah P.
I like the food here, I really do the only problem is the service and management. Now I have to be fair not all the servers are bad but there are two that I know of that if I see them working in the window I will go to another restaurant. These guys just know how to destroy a meal. That being said I love their Pad Tai, while it's absolutely overpriced at almost $22 including tax I'm some times willing to pay the price for a carb load after a long day of biking or skiing in Park City. They used to do an all you can eat Pad Tai at the bar for $9.99 but even though they still offer it now it's not quite the same. They don't let you take home your left overs so in my opinion it's not all you can eat. If I pay for a plate that I can't finish I want to take it home with me. I can understand if you dive into a second plate but let me take home my first, tell me I'm wrong here?
(2)Melissa H.
I really like this place. I don't come very often as prices can be a little steep for my frugal self, but the few times I've come I've enjoyed both the service and the food. I used to come more to the bar and get the $9.99 all you can eat Pad Thai - it's delicious!! Now that i have a toddler and obviously he's not allowed at the bar I don't go every week. In the summer though they do have a pretty good bento box deal. Lots of food for a little money! Don't miss the Thai iced tea - yummy!
(4)David A.
Alright, here's the trick... Go to Bangkok Thai. Turn right at the bottom of the stairs and go into the bar there called Club Monsoon. (I think that it's actually part of Bangkok Thai. All you can eat Pad Thai for about $9. On Main Street. In Park City. Unbelievable. And you are in the bar so the unlimited Pad Thai will help diffuse all the alcohol you are drinking....
(4)Rab K.
Food was great but the service was shit. We were across the hall at Monsoon, the bar affiliated with Bangkok Thai, and the bartender was an asshole. During every interaction with him he was soooo condescending to us on every level. He was obviously overwhelmed by his job and took it out on the customers. I would love to come back, but I'll check who is working before I put myself through a shit evening like I experienced tonight.

As I mentioned the other week, the boys took a fun trip to Park City for some skiing, movies and parties. We succeeded on all fronts. It was such a good weekend that we didn't have a lot of time to eat out. Monday night was our lone opportunity and it was jammed in between movies. Bangkok Thai on Main had an opening and it was centrally located. We ate quick and the food was pretty good. Our service was pretty bad, spilling beer, messing up orders and having a hard time tracking down our server (when I asked a different server if I could give him our bill he replied sharply "no, give it to YOUR server). Anyway, the food was ok, the beer was pretty good and the portions were large (though we did pay for it - something James called "sundance pricing"). Apparently Bangkok has an award winning wine list, I guess we'll have to find out next time. We started with a tasty tuna tartare for the table, and I ordered Pad Siew (though I received Pad Thai). James had a curry, Carson a rice dish and Dustin the Pad Siew I wanted. Most dishes went back empty and everyone seemed to enjoy the food. I couldn't believe how many noodles they served, though the price might help explain it ($16!) Even with the poor service and high prices, the food is pretty good. We were in a rush and probably didn't get a full and true experience. I'm on the fence with a recommendation, it could be worth going to or it could be worth finding the local cheap noodle shop. If someone has a different take please share!

Christmas Day - dinner- service was fine - kitchen horribly backed up. Manager was so awful and unhelpful it was literally shocking, food acceptable - nothing special -
(1)LISA M.
amazing! i love the crab apple spring rolls the thai dumplings as well wonderful...and sea bass in out of this world .The have a good wine list ,,,watch the year ..make sure you are getting what you paid for,,This was my favorite meal while in Park City ..I will be back for sure
(5)Chandler P.
Food isn't terrible. Portions are large. Prices are out of control. I am a Thai food snob having been to Thailand and living close to Thai Town in Los Angeles. I know what ingredients go into Pad Thai, how to cook it and how much everything costs. Charging on average $17 for a noodle plate is ridiculous. Even for Park City.

Great lunch bento boxes!

I've had Thai in many different states throughout the US and this one was surprisingly pretty great! One of the locals highly recommended the Panannang Curry. I didn't end up getting it but nearly every table around us did, it smelled fantastic. The Pad Thai and Pad Ga Prow were excellent but not the best I've ever had. They have obscene pricing, 17.99 and 18.99, I never paid more than $12 in Los Angeles and DC for these same dishes. Also the portion was a bit smaller than I'm used to but it was still more than 2 of us could put away. Our servers name was Chaang, he also came highly recommended by the locals. He was awesome and I strongly suggest that you request him as your server, you won't be disappointed.
(4)Barndi K.
It's 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars and I'm rounding UP b/c it's in Park City on Main St. It serves good solid Thai food in the middle of Sundance and though you can get more of it for the same price in LA, again, we are talking about a Thai sit-down on Main St in Park City! The place itself is nice and the food is solid.
(4)Crystal P.
I enjoyed the vegetarian wok dish with black bean sauce for my entree and fresh basil rolls for an appetizer. The flavors were spot on, although I'd prefer a peanut sauce with the rolls rather than the sweet chili sauce. Unfortunately, our meal ended badly when another person in our party nearly swallowed a thumb tack that was in his curry.
(3)Emily G.
This place was recommended to me, All you can eat Pad Thai - great! We ate at the Bar Club Monsoon. Cheap easy eats, the soup Tom Kha was delicious too. Definitely worth a stop in!
(4)Alex K.
This review is Bangkok Thai on Main's food and service at the Park City Food and Wine Classic. They were serving a vegetarian egg roll and a fried cod on rice. The egg roll was crispy, but the vegetables were soggy inside. It could have used some seasoning or something to give it character. The fried cod was good, but could have used a bit more salt. Went well with the sweet chili sauce on top, and the scallion oil around the plate.
(2)Carrie J.
My husband and I left after drinks and an appetizers because of the horrible service. The waiter short dark hair glasses had absolutely no serving skills at all. I gave it two stars because the appetizers were great. We will never come back to tho establishment.
(2)Chef J.
Wow...Being the first person to review this at 4 star or above I guess I should give everyone a reason to try this great restaurant. First their Wine selection is excellent. Prices are less expensive than most places I have been with wine spectator awards. Next the food. Probably top 3 Thai places I have been. Have been about 6 times now and never been disappointed. What has been said many times is expensive. It is on the high side for Thai food. Expect to pay 16-22 bucks per dish. Remember, this is Park City people. Everything is ridiculously expensive. It's the 20 percent tax for enjoying the mountains! And if you go....The lobster mango rolls are the most incredible appetizer ever!

It's Saturday night, Sundance week in Park City and I don't have any reservation. Aaaaarghh!!!!!! Fortunately a more organized neighbor has a reservation at this place.Wifee and I tag along. Neighbors have heard " good things " but never tried it out. Main Street is closed aside from Taxis and the Trolley buses and the fresh snow makes it feel even more cool than this picturesque street normally feels. We find our restaurant which is on the basement of a building at the bottom of Main St. We are quickly shown to our booth ( a hard wooden bench! ) and we are quickly served. Very nice server with good sense of humor, a good thing when dealing with a sarcastic Brit! Ladies order Manhattans and Gents order Thai Singha beer. All arrive very quickly and the place is JAMMED. We share some dumplings to start, taste good but look a little plain, grey even. Ladies ordered Pad Thai with Chicken, huge portion and whilst not super Thai spicy it was ok. I had a Stir Fry with lots of veggies and beef, I think they must have got a good deal on a bulk buy of carrots judging by the volume of orange on my plate. Meat was tender but again , not too spicy. My healthy brown rice was a side dish and extra $, a little cheap. Should it not be included in a $25 plate? The neighbor wants spicy, he orders a shrimp dish and asks them for 8/10. It arrives and wifee, who can eat stuff hotter than molten lava marinated in a bowl of police issue pepper spray, thinks it's " too hot ". Neighbor loved it and cleaned the plate. 3 star place, great location, when it's not Sundance and a table is easier to score, will I return? Probably not BUT not because there is anything bad, it's just there is so much choice in Park City, you can probably do better.

Stopped in during a snowstorm in search of soup. Although they had a buy one, get one free entree special, I ordered some Tom Kha soup (sadly, not BOGO) and shared a Chicken Satay appetizer. The appetizer was a good size and tasty at $7.99. It included four large skewers that were marinated nicely. The soup, however, geez, it took forever! We waited a really long time to get it. And, sadly, it wasn't even that hot. I speculate that they made it and then forgot to serve it. Also, at $8.99, it was a tad overpriced for the quality and quantity. Further, our waiter, while nice, was a tad annoying, asking us how everything was at least 5 times during the meal. I was tempted to just give random answers (Amazing!, God Awful!, Meh!, Delicious!, Disgusting!) by the end. The restaurant is partially underground, so, if you're looking for beautiful views of main street, look elsewhere. Otherwise, the ambiance is nice and the restaurant is quiet--good date possibilities. Also, I appreciated finding a non-American restaurant on Main Street (the Vietnamese restaurant across the street looked unappealing) .It's probably not the most authentic butttt, to be fair, I only ordered soup and an appetizer.
(3)Lauren P.
Worst service ever! I was excited to share the night with some friends, but my friends were the only good thing about the night. The food was ok, but not for the price. The server was not friendly AT ALL! The manager never came by our table to ask how our evening was and when I complained to the manager the next day, not once did he even APOLOGIZE! That evening we could even hear the server in the kitchen complain about our table. I am in awe that a restaurant could be ran in such a manner!!
(1)Suzanne B.
My friend, a Park City resident, made these reservations for our group a few days ago. What a horrible experience! I realize that service can be challenging during Sundance, but this was ridiculous. We waited for 25 minutes to be first seen by our server. When our food finally arrived, it was not only ice cold, but inedible as well. Every single dish was sickeningly sweet! Our server was no where to be seen when we were presented with our meals, but when he finally returned to drop the check, we asked to speak with the manager. We explained how disappointed we were with our meals (we left our service issue out of it), and he proceeded to argue with us that everyone else in the restaurant seemed happy, we simply must have "ordered the wrong food." Wow! We weren't searching for anything other than to make him aware of our sub-par experience and he would have none of it. Possibly he should reread the chapter on managerial diplomacy.

The food is not very Thai. It's not very good either. I used to always see the place when visiting Love Your Pet when they were located here. It always looked so good, and I love Thai food. They only had cold water fish like halibut available instead of traditional fish. The dishes the owner said were traditional still had overly bland seasoning. That's independent of the mild heat of the spice even when I asked for spicy. The reason for dishes like duck, according to the owner, is that they go with the red wines he sells. Some of the trophy wines were well priced, but most were very expensive. It's very expensive and there is quite a bit of pretention. The duck was way over cooked. The owner said it was because of they have to fry it after baking it, but he understood there are people who prefer it less cooked. You'd think that would be a reason to figure out how to cook it better. At over $150 for dinner, it was a really bad deal. I really wanted to love the place, but I couldn't find much to love.
(2)Elin O.
Craving Somthing spicy we made reservations on the recommendations of some Locals. The restaurant was packed and very tight, they had put as many tables as possible in the small space we were elbow to elbows with the other diners. The lobster mango egg rolls were exactly that. Lots of mango with a touch of lobster in rice paper, tastes exactly as it sounds. My duck was overlooked and the skin was soft and rubbery tasted almost like it was boiled. The Pad Thai was ok as was the green curry. Service was prompt and attentive.
(2)Cameron T.
Food was ok, ambiance was nice, huge wine list, and way overpriced. We ordered a curry dish and had to pay extra for a very very small serving of rice. Also service was awkward and slow even on a very slow night. Not recommended.
(2)Charlie B.
My four stars are based on the bar area only. Pad Thai special is great, bartenders are (mostly) cool and its a nice, chill place to have a drink with some decent food. The food is good but slightly pricy (overall but not for Main)
(4)Alex S.
This place was AWFUL. The Thai food was alright. But it gets 1 star because of the service from Blue. Went with a group of 8 people, all with serving backgrounds, and we all agreed that after our 2 1/2 HOUR EXPERIENCE JUST TRYING TO EAT, that Blue was the worst server any of us had experienced. We were greeted with a rude "You must be 21 to be in here" (all of us are near 30 years old). It took Blue 30 min to come and take drink/food order. I am not joking about this. He made lewd jokes about our names being "pornstar names" and jokes about "dick straws/cakes" at bachelorette parties. We all came to eat the Pad Thai all you can eat. After it took AN HOUR for the food to be brought out after ordering, none of us wanted to wait another hour just to get our 2nd order so when we tried to place our 2nd order in advance, Blue rudely referenced "unwritten policy" as why he couldn't do it. When we tried to explain that we didn't want to wait another hour, he stated that we were being filmed and we better watch our behavior?!?!? WTF, where did that come from? When it came time to get our checks, that process too no less than 30 minutes, I KID YOU NOT. Blue automatcally added a tip (fine since we were a group of 8). Food was good, DO NOT GO EAT IF BLUE IS SERVING BEHIND THE BAR. WORST FOOD EXPERIENCE EVER!!!
(1)Kim E.
Great food and outstanding service! And a special THANK YOU to the owner who mailed my glasses back home to me after I accidentally left them at the restaurant. The owner and staff went "the extra mile" for me, and I give them TOP REVIEWS! Great food, great service and great karma!
(5)Mike M.
The first app, called mango/lobster spring roll, is soso. The second app we had, a spring roll ala Vietnam called Po Pia Sod, was good. The Tom yum soup was ok, the green papaya salad was a little limp, but the 3 flavor sea bass was great, but small. For desert we had an app, which was the chicken wings stuffed with a bunch of stuff, which was tasty - but make sure and pour the sauce all over it, otherwise it's too dry. The wine list. OMG. If you're a wine geek at all, it doesn't matter about the food. The wine selection is unreal. They have more Alsatian and German wines (divided into Spatlese, Auslese, and Trockenbierenauslese) that I've seen this side of New York (Artisinal, Le Bernadin). 5 star wine list, 3 star food.
(4)Jessica M.
My husband and I went here while we were in Park City celebrating our anniversary. We are cheap bastards, and had a BOGO from a Happenings book, or we would have never even entered the place -- the prices are high. My husband ordered a delicious pad thai -- one of the best I've ever had. I ordered a honey glazed duck, because, well, I've never had duck before. The glaze was delicious, the duck was good -- but, I'm no expert on how moist/tender duck should be since I've never had it before. I wouldn't return, though, unless I had another coupon.
(4)Bonnie C.
All you can eat Pad Thai for $9.99 and it is amazing. I'm addicted. I have to have it once a week! The portions are huge; I could never get through the first plate. If we get some $5 apps, the bf and I can split one plate. However, the leftovers are almost better cold the next day. The appetizers are great too. I've only tried a few, but haven't been disappointed yet! I can't yet comment on the rest of the entrees, but judging by the Pad Thai, it's no wonder they are rated the best Thai food in Utah. For the "all you can eat" special, you must eat in the bar, not the main dining room. The bar is very nice, with friendly bartenders. The dining room looks nice, but the menu is expensive (like every other restaurant on Main St., Park City). Until the economy recovers in my favor, I'll be eating off the cheap menu in bar. Love love love this place!!!
(5)Sherri E.
Authentic Thai food......FINALLY! This place is in the downstairs of another building, very nice decor. The staff is friendly and efficient. We will definitely eat here again!!!! We tried the Pad Ga Mow with Duck (authentic spicy) Amazing!!!! We also had Thai Gai Yang BbQ Chicken and Fried Bananas with Coconut Ice cream.......all was super tasty!!!!!!
(5)Geoff And Jenni G.
Bangkok Thai is an authentic Thai restaurant with some great veggie options. We shared an appetizer (lobster/mango spring roll) and our friends had the Thai steamed dumplings - both were very good. The veggie Panang Curry and the veggie Pad Khing were both fabulous and it was great to have the option of brown rice instead of sticky rice... Front of house seemed a little disorganized when we arrived, but our waiter was very attentive and helpful. All in all, we very much enjoyed our visit and would definitely go back... recommended!
(4)Justin B.
Better have a reservation on a weekend. Don't bother ordering to go because it took over an hour. We gave up and went somewhere else and were halfway done eating when they called to tell us our order was ready
(1)Picha M.
Really the only Thai food in town. Our experience here was extremely disappointing. Let me preface this however with the fact that we had a group of 13. But 3 were under 3 and didn't order for themselves. The restaurant was overall not very busy. However they were horribly understaffed. It took us a while to even meet a waitress/hostess. We were greeted with we will be happy to seat you if our next reservation doesn't show up! Guess what they didn't! Bingo table for 13. Our waitress was very nice and pleasant but she needed some help. There were no bus people to help with setting the table and providing water. We ordered standard Pad Seew, Gang Daeng, Gai Yang, Moo Yang. The food took FOREVER to arrive. Overall the moo Yang and Gai Yang were decent but small portions for the price. Our Gang Daeng was tasty but a little sweet for my taste. The pad seew went over well with the kids but I think they were starving. I felt the noodles were a tad on the salty side but decent. Overall the food tasted "authentic Thai" but not necessarily "good Thai." I guess because of the location on Main Street they can raise the prices for us tourists and get away with it. Our experience was very poor mostly due to the service. I expected better during a week night and off peak season.
(2)Penelope F.
I also hate to give bad reviews. But, we were really disappointed. I completely agree with Lyndsay T. I would give the taste of the entrees 4 star, although not the appetizers... i would give them a 1star...the lobster rolls some raved about were a disappointment to us. They lacked lobster flavor even though we could see the pieces in the rolls. The lobster meat was chewy and flavorless. This is the email I sent them: "We made an order to go. We ordered two appetizers and two entrees. The food was tasty but shockingly small. Both of our entrees were less than a third the size of any Thai restaurant we have EVER ordered from. There were four of us and we felt like we had been teased and left frustratingly hungry. It cost us almost $120.00. I will be writing many reviews to hopefully make others aware that they should order three times more than they think they will need and it WILL be ungodly expensive for what you get. I will also tell a friend of mine that lives in Salt Lake City has a food blog and is a food critic! On top of that you forgot to send one of our entrees and the poor young man had to go back and get it. The honorable thing to do would be refund half of my bill. Penelope J Fisher

Super super nice waitstaff to deal with us Sundancers. Really everyone in Park City is friendly, but the patience of the employees was unreal. Came in for one thing and one thing only, Pad Thai. Was soooo good, and soooooo much! Not to mention killer prices. I am super particular about my Pad Thai, there is nothing worse than overcooked tofu but they hit the nail on the head. Will for sure be back!
(5)Cj H.
Watch out for automatic gratuity of 18% on post tax amount! The food was great, but the service was awful. We were the only customers in the restaurant when we arrived and yet we had to ask other staff to find our server three times. They said she was eating dinner which is exactly what we were attempting to do. She forgot to bring rice with our meal and it took over 10 minutes of waiting for her to appear and bring the missing rice so we could eat but by then our food was cold. We had to again find her to order more drinks and get the check. I was shocked to see 18% gratuity add after tax to our bill. No wonder the service was so awful. We were only a party of 2, so I was very surprised the tip was automatically added to the bill. The restaurant was already overpriced and so having the tip calculated on the total including taxes is ridiculous gouging. I live in park city, but i won't return to this restaurant and be forced to pay for worthless service. Eat elsewhere.

First-Best Pad Thai I have EVER HAD! (and I eat a lot of authentic pad thai in CHi) Second-REALLY CRUMMIE SERVICE.....Seinfeld story coming your way.... Me: "let's hit that place with the all you can eat pad thai for $9.95 before 6:00 that I saw a sign for on the street" 1 day later, appx 5:40 p.m Me: 'Hi! Were are here for the pad thai!" Hostess: "Right this way" off to the dining room.... Waiting....waiting....no one but a bus boy with some water.....inching near 6:00, I won't be penalized for their slow service will I?!?! Finally a server in sight! Coming our way! Wait!!!!!!!! Intercepted by some 40 something women who appear to be locals or regulars...he seats them, ignores us and now it's 6:00, AHHHHH! 5 more minutes pass...he comes to our table, I'm famished and have 25 minutes or irritability under my belt.... Me: "We are both going to have the pad thai special" Waiter: "Sorry, that is only in the bar" FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Back to the host stand..... Me: "Apparently we need to be in the bar for the pad thai?" Host: "right this way" WFT lady, why didn't you tell me??? Into the empty bar.... Me: "We are here for the all you can eat Pad Thai" Bartender (mean/disgruntled old man that has been doing this waaaay to long) "Sorry, that ended at 6:00" Me: "I WAS HERE AT 5:40 IN THE DINING ROOM BEING IGNORED! Bartender: "I can bring you the pad thai, but you can only have one plate." Seriously, kiss my....... Best part of the story, I'd go back and face those idiots because the pad thai was that good!

It's more of a fancy Thai food place. Amazing wine list. Great that they have menu paired with wine. Vahlrhona molten chocolate is one of the best ever!

I'm giving this 5 stars! Service was excellent!!! Food was superb! I'm very happy. We had chicken satay and dumplings for an app. I had pad Thai and hubs had pad sew. Then an amazing sticky rice dessert. Cant wait to go back!

This restaurant could have earned 4, even 5 stars in my book, except for the unacceptable way that the manager rushed us to turn over tables. First the good stuff: went there last week, yes during Sundance, was able to secure a table way in advance through Open Table. Seated promptly, attentive and personable server. Excellent Dumplings and Lobster and Mango spring rolls. For main course, I ordered the sea bass--delicious, spicy but not enough to dominate delicate flavor of the fish. Good wine list. Not so good: 5 adults were so squeezed into a booth that we were required to bump into the chair of a diner at an adjacent table to squeeze in. Clearance was maybe 4 or 6 inches. Unacceptable: when asked if we wanted dessert, we said no but several of us ordered another drink instead. Drink was poured, and less than 10 minutes later the manager comes to our table, says that the next reservation for our table had arrived so could we please pay up and leave! He was polite about it BUT . . . It is never okay to ask diners to leave to make room for others especially when they were not yet finished with what had been served (and what they paid for). It is never okay to rush someone to finish an alcoholic drink. Especially when we weren't just talking up space without ordering more. We had been there about an hour and 40 minutes when asked to vacate, during which we had appetizers, 5 entrees, a bottle of wine, and one round of after dinner drinks in lieu of dessert. Sundance is no excuse. If you have paying customers who are still consuming what they ordered and paid for, gladly served by the restaurant, you don't have management tell them have to leave to clear the table. And if you accepted too many reservations, well, that is your fault not the diners' fault. This alone would make me think twice about returning, Sundance or at another less busy time. Addendum: scrolling through other recent reviews, it appears that the manager asking diners to vacate their tables for others is not uncommon, and not just during Sundance. Beware.

Service was not great....my husband and I were seated right away and after a short wait, received our Kirin's. Another short wait, and we ordered. LONG wait before dinner arrived as we watched other tables seated after get their appetizers. Long wait means over 1/2 hour with very few tables in the restaurant. Perhaps we didn't have the right look....as our waiter poured other tables beers, ours were just set on the table. He apologized for the lengthy wait for dinner just before we were going to leave, he seemed surprised we were bummed and the food instantly appeared. Sorry, but you being short handed is not my problem, why don't you just tell us that at the door so we can go elsewhere. The Pad Thai was good, not great and basically my dinner was ruined by our interaction with the server. Won't go back and doubt if you care as that was how we felt through the entire dinner....you didn't care about us.

The Green Curry with chicken may be the best we've ever had. We also ordered the Duck with red curry. The duck was cooked to perfection! Atmosphere was very nice. They let us come in early. We didn't know their hours and accidentally showed up at 5:00 instead of 6:00. They were very gracious in seating is immediately.

Reading through the negatives reviews of this place, the majority of the upset seems to be over Bangkok's service, not their food. So, craving Thai while weekending in Park City, I cheated and ordered takeout. Based solely on the food, I had a good experience. Yes, it's pricey. $29 for a soup & vegetarian pad thai. Yes, it also sucks that they slip in an extra $3 charge for tofu. But it's Park City, and that's the price I pay for craving something a little exotic and within walking distance on Main Street. As for people who say that this is the best pad thai they've ever tasted. Far from it, in my opinion. It's strange to me to find full leaves of lettuce among my noodles. I've been to Thailand, I don't remember that. If you do want to try incredible pad thai (and don't mind the drive down the canyon) try out Thai Orchid or delicious Sawadee. I'll give it to Bangkok Thai though, the Tom Kha soup was delicious and something I would probably return for. Last note: my take out service was awesome. My food was hot and ready when they said it would be, and all the servers were really attentive to making sure I was loaded up with chopsticks, extra sauce, even mints, for my trek back up Main Street.

Overall decent Thai food, but brought down by a few factors: 1. $1.50 rice per person - what kind of asian restaurant doesn't provide free rice? Not to mention apparently they don't even give you rice with Panang Curry - what are you supposed to eat it with? 2. No spice tray. 3. O-K service (although the water service was good) 4. Generally overpriced 5. Thai bbq pork was a dry pork chop dipped in teriyaki sauce

We love this place for the 9.95 pad Thai 4-6 in the bar area but cannot stand the bartender that works there mon-wed that we know of. We have come in there before on a sun with unfortunately him working. We are not going to come in anymore when he is there. It totally ruins the whole experience. We think he has several screws loose!!!! Food is excellent and has best pad Thai in ut so would hate to bring down their rating!
(1)Elizabeth S.
My husband and I had dinner at Bangkok's tonight. I had a noodle dish (not Pad Thai) and he ordered duck. My appetizer was spring rolls and his coconut soup. Everything was delicious! Service was great but our waiter had time to chat since we were there early, before it got busy. He explained that during the summer they only have two severs and when the restaurant is full they can't keep up....I would definitely eat there again.
(5)Bird M.
What?! They had a 3 when I wrote this review. Unacceptable. Their service, as well as in Club Monsoon, is higher than most I have experienced in the Park City area. Staff is honest, friendly, prompt and courteous. Their Panang Curry is the best of the many Thai restaurants I have eaten at in the surrounding area. Place is pricey, but you get what you pay for. I look forward to coming back to have the Duck and a glass of wine from their gorgeous wine cellar. All you can eat pad Thai is not only inviting but great tasting next door at Club Monsoon. Yes five dollar charge for rice, but before you give a poor review look where you are. A beautiful old Main Street basement hotel with great atmosphere. Again, you get what you pay for and it is quality! You want some thing cheaper after skiing? Go to Club Monsoon or somewhere else down the street.

The food was excellent however it wasn't delivered to the table all at once. It was parceled in and my son's fairly simple Pad Siuw came as we were finishing up. The rice is separate from the dish, is a delicious jasmine rice, but costs additional money. Their reasoning is that they're fine dining...hmmm. The ambiance and decor is wonderful. The curries were delicious as was the ahi tuna salad. I would go again and hope for improved service.
(3)Nicole H.
Probably the worst pad see ew I've ever had. I don't even know what the noodles are made from, but they are not the traditional rice noodles. There were a ton of servers there but for some reason we could never find ours and she only stopped by to take our order and drop off the food. Other than that she was MIA the entire time.
(1)James A.
Solid 3 Stars but pricey for that level. Bad first impression when they deliver their signature Tom KA Soup luke warm after waiting 20 minutes for it during a slow weekday evening "off season" Food - just "OK" Service - Good Was hoping for better
(3)Sleep W.
Nice ambience. Dark mood lighting. Wooden interior. Thai music playing. I ordered my standard Thai foods to gauge a new Thai restaurant. Thom ka ghai, pad Thai, chicken satai. Soup came out right away and excellent, a lot of chicken, large bowl. Satai were grilled, perfectly done and the biggest I have ever seen. Great peanut sauce. Pad Thai excellent. Good overall quality, and very friendly service. Hit it up if you are feeling like Thai. You won't be disappointed. It is true that it is a little more expensive than your average Thai food, but that's probably to be expected on Main Street in park city. And the portion sizes are huge, so I did not feel gypped.
(5)D B.
do not eat here during sundance!! got sick! Not great service either. Manager is not helpful direct complaints to Web site.
(1)Mountain G.
Worst Thai food, very over priced, terrible quality. On the plus side service was wonderful and the wine list was impressive. Taste of Saigon not too far a way is a much better choice for Asian cuisine.
(2)Kate W.
Very good! Enjoyed the food and the service was great. Tried the pad thai and the vegetable pad king. Very good. The drink specials were excellent including the blue lagoon with cilantro. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area. Interesting decor and ambiance, as well. Reasonably priced. The whole evening had an authentic feel to it.

My husband and I have been coming to Park City for 25 years and one place we always stop at is BangkokThai on Main St. We love the food and so do our boys.. My husband and I also go visit their bar with their bartender Blue. He is always playing great music and has lots of good stories to tell, and you can't beat the $9..99 all you can eat pad Thai served in the bar. A must visit for sure!

I came here with a group friends on a Tuesday night. It was very busy, however we did not have to wait long for a table. We were seated almost right away. However after we were seated it took about 15 minutes for someone to come and take our drink orders, and that was only after we asked the water-boy to have someone come. After that it took a very long time to receive our drinks, then food, then check. Short story the service is horrible. The food was good, but not good enough to spend 2 hours just for a simple dinner, especially when we only planned to spend an hour for dinner. I will not be coming back.
(2)Vanessa M.
I was here with a fellow Yelper for Sundance. Our first day in PC we decided to have lunch here. The place was virtually empty (only 2 tables sat). We requested a booth and was told it was "too busy" so we were sat at a tiny side table. We were there for an hour , there were at least 8 booths and at least 2 were still open when we left. The other's had been taken by parties of 3. What did she only take bribes for booths?? Hostess FAIL. First things first.. drinks! I had a Blue Monsoon and my friend had the Tokyo Tea. Both drinks were perfection. Then we ordered the Angel Wings. Note I said "WINGS". What came out? ONE WING. wtf? It also wasn't very pretty looked like a butterfly in the cocoon stage..and deep fried. In addition this eye sore had virtually no flavor. Appetizer FAIL. Next we split the Panang. That was delicious and just barely enough for 2 people on a diet. Very skimpy portions and it was kind of pricey as far as Thai goes. But we expected pricey during Sundance. If you're a local I would definitely try it IF the prices are reduced after Sundance. If not.. you're not getting very much for what you spend. I'm sure you can do better elsewhere.
(3)Tyger L.
Tokyo Tea. Delicious. Peak Gai (Thai Angel Wings)...should be singular. There was just 1 wing for the two of us to share. It looked weird. It tasted ok. I woudn't order it again though. The little shrimp chips that come with it were bomb-diggity though. Um...that means tasty. Panang Curry Chicken...Scrumptious. But not enough for two people...even two people on a diet...for lunch...It's enough for 1 and 1/3 people though, so if you happen to have 1/3 of a person with you, go for it. Otherwise you may have a little bit for leftovers.
(3)Stephanie F.
Good food but overly expensive with lots of added charges. The service was pretty good, and the atmosphere was nice. I had a thai iced tea, tom kha soup, and penang curry. Everything tasted great. However, they charge $3 to add tofu to the vegetarian curry. I was lucky to ask specifically for the tofu because it wasn't listed anywhere on the menu that the curry was just vegetables unless you paid extra. Nothing comes with rice so you have to order it for the table. Half of us didn't even end up eating rice, but we were still charged for it. We really enjoyed our food, but these extra charges at every turn made the experience much less enjoyable (especially since the base prices were so high for Indian food).

We found ourselves in Park City this afternoon and decided to chance having the baby during dinner. My wife is on a dairy-free diet while breastfeeding, so we decided to go with an Asian cuisine. Bangkok Thai is located on 605 Main Street in Park City on the lower end of the historic shopping district. The entrance to the restaurant is in the basement (and I do mean creepy old basement) of the Park Hotel which, despite all aging appearances, was built in the 1980's. The restaurant has a traditional dining area to the left and a lounge to the right. We had initially planned on enjoying the all-you-can-eat Pad Thai at the bar before 6pm for $10 a person, but were turned away because you have to be at least 21 years old to be in the bar... We sort of forgot that we had the baby. The interior of the restaurant is impressive. My 4 month-old spent most of the evening fascinated with the ceiling. The dining room is actually pretty small, but it didn't run the risk of getting too loud or crowded. Despite not being an example of their usual upper-class Après-ski guests, they did an amazing job of taking care of our needs and preventing any issues having our potentially noisy baby would impose on their other patrons. Our order was quickly taken with a smile and our glasses were never empty. They didn't hover over the table and allowed us plenty of time to enjoy ourselves, but not so long as to wonder if our food would ever arrive. I ordered the Panang Curry and my wife ordered the Pad Thai with Chicken (an apparent favorite among all of their guests and the dish that won them 2013's BEST OF STATE award). I was worried about my decision to go with the brown rice instead of the traditional white with my dinner, but the resulting texture sold me. The food was absolutely heavenly. The only downside was the price. I'd have gladly paid $30 for the food pictured here, but the dinner came to $55 after tax and tip. We were, however, full and satisfied long before any dessert inquiries were made. I'd gladly go again, but the premium price lands this restaurant squarely in the "special occasion" category and will have to wait for me to devise another excuse for coming.
(4)Evie G.
Average thai food. Definitely not worth the price. The dishes were uninspired. For $20 (not including meat or rice), you'd expect some measure of creativity. Ambience was lacking as was the service. Server was overtly hostile. If you're visiting Park City, you're better off going to one of the breweries.
(2)TJ M.
Laughably horrendous service. Sticky tables, old crumbs in the cushion. And an entertaining, but insanely inappropriate bartender to boot. I just lived my personal hell at Bangkok on Main/Club Monsoon.
(1)Ginger S.
I've eaten here several times over the past 11 years and kudos to Bangkok Thai for stellar service during a very crowded Sundance 2013. Highlights (for me) include the extensive wine list, the cheerful service, the reliable and tasty food, and the atmosphere in general. It's sort of "tucked away" from the ruckus of Main Street.
(4)Greg L.
Terrible experience went there Sunday night about six got seated order 2 hot sakis that came back lukewarm looked all around for the waiter never showed up until he brought our soups waited 30 minutes to get our dinner one meal was ordered medium rare came out well done I order the duck which came back ice cold there was just a hot sauce on top of it evidently I was being served yesterday's food I complain to the server and he said thank you we will let management know I got the managers name from the front desk because they said there was no manager on duty I asked him to have him call me never called call the next day and left a message for him they called back and asked if I wanted a reservation I said no I wanted to speak to the manager tell him to call me next day no call following day left a message no call finally got ahold of him and it seems he could care less I was telling me about the problems I had and then I asked a question and there was nobody there it appears that he just set down the phone not caring at all what I had to say very poor management
(1)Robert S.
Looks like service here is very hit and miss. We were served by Chaang, who was very nice and attentive. We had the pad Thai and Mussuman Curry. I lived in Thailand for a number of years and this is about as authentic as it comes for these two dishes. Other than it didn't have the typical chicken foot sticking out of your curry....lol. We went in the middle of February on a Thursday night. It was not crowded and was a nice quiet evening. Seems like most folks complaints are during Sundance, which I stay as fare away as possible during that time.....but hey, I'm a local.
(5)John K.
the restaurant is nice and the staff was very pleasant. The reason for two stars is the quality of the food. We had spring rolls, dumplings and lobster mango rolls for appetizers. The spring rolls were greasy, the dumplings cold (and a little pasty) and the Lobster roll was soggy. The flavors were good but not executed well, I had the Tom Yom Goong soup that came out tepid and it was basically just broth with two little shrimp in it. It should be loaded with onions peppers and lemon grass and it should be spicy. It wasn't We had the pad thai which was good but the noodles were a little tough? I had Panang Curry which had good flavor but not very spicy. Most Thai restaurants ask you how spicy you like your food when ordering they don't here. My wife had a vegetable stir fry which tasted ok but kind of bland. Looked so brown though that it made it unappetizing. Overall just an ok experience there are better places to eat in PC

We visited Bangkok Thai last night and didn't know what to expect based on the reviews here on Yelp. It's right down town, located downstairs in a hotel. We ordered the Thai Dumplings and had never seen a dumpling like that before. There were four of them on the plate and they weren't your typical dumpling. They were large and full of filling and very tasty! For dinner we had the chicken/shrimp Pad Thai. This dish was also very good. I would suggest they not cook the sprouts into the dish because it seemed to make it "wetter" than normal Pad Thai...plus, when raw, they add a nice texture to the dish. I would also forego the shrimp next time and just have the chicken. It didn't add any extra flavor as they seemed to be simply steamed and didn't have much flavor to them. Other than that, it was very good. We would go there again for sure if in town.

Just popped in today, wow very surprised. Great food, it opens at 5:30pm, we walked in right when it opened. Excellent food, excellent service, would love to come back again to eat here.

I registered a complaint on this restaraunt because of the manager Ryan. This evening at the restaurant I was entertaining good friends. We had just ordered a bottle of wine and the waitress opened the bottle and poured. After she was done, the manager brought her back to the table and began giving her a lesson on the proper way to open and pour wine. I asked that he conduct his training away from the table, and he acknowledged my comment, ignored me and continued degrading the waitress in front of my wife and guests. It was completely inappropriate and left an air of unease over the table. When we completed our dinner the restaurant was empty, and my guest politely approached your manager and explained that "you should be embarrassed of your conduct", at which point the manager pulled off his tie and stated "maybe - but I am not". I was a Naval Officer and currently manage a mid-size engineering firm. I have always taken the guidance of "praise in public and reprimand in private". I know this wisdom is a cornerstone of the hospitality industry. The conduct of this manager is unacceptable at best and certainly disturbing. If he worked for me - he would be fired. Oh - the food? Leaving out the atmosphere that was left by the bizzare behavior of the manager, the food was good, but overpriced.
(1)Hans K.
what a pleasant surprise! the noodles were very good and the curry also! solid place overall! don't let non food related complaints affect your expectations of the food that is actually here!
(4)Dennis S.
Horrible service and rude management: Upon arriving they told us there would be a wait of 30 minutes and suggested we enjoy main street and return in 20 minutes. We returned in 15 minutes just to be safe, and were coldly told by the hostess that we had missed our names being called, and he continued to gripe as he begrudgingly sat us. The waits were ridiculous taking 20 minutes for a waiter to speak to us, and 30 minutes for the food to arrive. Despite all this we remained patient and friendly with the staff as we were in no rush. Food was good, but not worth the price. Within a few minutes of paying my bill, the manager came to our table and rudely told us the table was needed for another reservation, that we had been their long enough, and kicked us out. Very infuriating after all the time they had made us wait that they could not allow us even five minutes to gather ourselves before exiting. I'm very disgusted with how they treat their customers and will not return.
(1)Aaron R.
We have condo here and spend a lot of time in town. This is one of our favorite places. The duck is always amazing!
(5)Vida A.
Sat out on the patio on main street, great people watching. This is for sure dumbed down Thai food, meaning its not very spicy. Curry dishes are kinda watery and lacked robust flavor curries usually have. Prices are high for what you get but its Main street so I expected it. Won't be back.
(3)Thor S.
Food was okay, only just. Prices were very high, more in line with the steakhouse-like decor than with the fairly pedestrian nature of the Thai food. Service was friendly, but not really very good. We ordered two appetizers, a soup, a pad thai, and penang curry with duck. The appetizers were sorely lacking in both spice and sourness. To their credit, the staff brought out a very nice assortment of hot spices (including prik nam pla and coarse-ground dry red chile) to fix the former problem; however, though I asked for a wedge of lime to fix the entirely bland tom kha gai soup (which should be extremely sour, but had almost no sourness at all) it never showed up. Eventually, I recycled the limes that did come with the pad thai by throwing them into the remaining half-bowl of soup -- this actually made it pretty good! Someone in the kitchen may be able to execute but dumbing it down for the white folks; it's hard to tell. The pad thai was okay, but had two problems. First, we ordered it with shrimp, and it came with shrimp, but they were cold, pre-barbequed shrimp simply placed on top of the pile of noodles. Not quite what we expected (or wanted). Second, it was much too sweet, almost like pad see ew. Both dishes are on the menu, and they should be distinct dishes -- but, come to think of it, the noodles were a little on the wide side, too... hmmm. The duck curry was very disappointing: the duck had clearly been cooked separately, with nothing in particular to flavor it, and then just tossed into a pre-made curry base at the last moment. The duck should have been cooked in the curry! Of course, this might have been difficult, since one of the options for types of curry, mentioned to us as a special when we sat down, was a "meritage of the red and penang curries" which sounds to me an awful lot like "we made too much red curry and penang curry yesterday and it's not going to keep much longer so we mixed it together". This, we avoided, needless to say. Duck in penang curry is a little odd, admittedly, but they both had it on the menu and suggested it, and it should have have ingredients in it that were cooked together -- not thrown together at the last moment and not even entirely heated through. The flaws described above wouldn't entirely doom a Thai meal for me, if I had it at a storefront takeout place, for example, where cost control were key, the pace of orders high, and expectations moderate. All the flavors were there -- albeit not balanced as they should have been, but there nonetheless. Shortcuts like preparing curry bases without the protein work, sometimes -- when slightly more skillfully executed. But this was a fancy restaurant -- at least, fancy-looking -- with very high prices. When I get north of $15 for a plate of pad thai, or $23 for a curry, I expect much more. I didn't get it. The staff clearly meant well, but didn't know the food and missed some chances to make the experience better. We were seated, early on a Friday evening, next to the only other diners in the whole restaurant, probably for the convenience of the staff. As soon as we sat down, it was clear that the other diners were drunk, boisterous, and somewhat disruptive. Our waitress clearly noticed; she didn't offer to move us. As mentioned above, lime I requested to fix up the flavors of my soup and appetizer never showed up, though I was able to improvise. The waitress was baffled by an attempt to order "tom kha gai" though "tom kha soup" both "with chicken" and "with vegetables" was on the menu; I'd feel like a snob for complaining except that she seemed equally baffled when I tried to order "tom kha soup, with chicken" and eventually I had to point it out on the menu myself - there were only two soups offered. Nobody is perfect and of course it's okay to not know everything about the food you're selling; maybe she was new; but the names of the dishes on the menu, this is a thing a server should know, in a restaurant that wants to charge more than $10 for that bowl of soup. This restaurant's web site trumpets that it was "rated best fine dining Thai Utah 2012", and an award attesting to the same for an earlier year was framed on the wall near our table. Not quite sure what's up with that; there has to be much better Thai food in Utah and we didn't get the "fine dining" experience either. Two stars for the food; if I scaled my ratings by price (I don't) the rating would be lower.

Order the 'bento box' lunch options. They are only 10 bucks and include 5 portions. Great value and quality ingredients. Server "Chaang" was excellent and a friendly Thai fellow.
(5)Kelli M.
There are mixed reviews on this place for sure, but I would definitely recommended going. My husband and I went there and got an appetizer, two entrees, and drinks. Our total bill came to just under $100 including tip. The food was really delicious. I would definitely say that it was the best Pad Thai I have ever had! The service was good. If anything they were a little too anxious to take our plates away. They acted like it was a crowded restaurant and needed our table asap, but that wasn't the case. They were not rude about it - just doing their job in the most efficient way possible. It is worth the trip to go! So if you are on the fence, just go, you won't be disappointed.

The ambience is charming, the staff is polite and efficient, and most of the food was very well prepared. The prices are a bit high. A glass of wine can run you upwards of fourteen dollars, and they pour rather on the light side. They have a great selection of wine, and have won the wine spectator award, but I'd rather have a reasonably priced glass of house sauvignon blanc at Chiles than pay $14.00 a glass just because im in a wine spectator awarded establishment. They are also the only Thai restaurant I've ever been to that does not include rice with a curry entree. They justify this by saying they have numerous choices of rice, etc, but at seventeen to twenty dollars for a small curry portion, charging an additional dollar fifty for a bowl of white rice is just ridiculous. They might get away with charging if you want to upgrade to a fancy long rice or brown rice, but standard white jasmine should always be included. My Tom ka soup was nice, but it was just a flavorful broth with nice mushroom slices and large chunks of white meat chicken. I usually expect other vegetables, something to liven things up. A bowl of soup gets boring if all forty spoonfulls are exactly the same, no matter how good the broth is. The dumplings tasted like cat food. I hate to say something so negative, but the smell, consistency, everything was just gourmet cat food wrapped in a poorly constructed noodle that was much too small and fell apart. The waitress was kind enough to remove it from our bill. Our Panang chicken was delish, but the portion was a bit small for the $18.00 pricetag. overall....ehhh. We didn't leave pissed but we didn't leave happy.

I was starving so this place sufficed. I ordered the Pad Siew as a vegetarian dish. The sauce was good, but VERY salty. I liked the mix of vegetables with this dish. Service was kind of, meh. The server forgot to bring out one of the people in our party's soup. He was very indifferent about the whole situation. When she brought it to his attention, he just said, "Yeah, I know. The kitchen forgot." Ohhhkay then. Thanks. He did later apologize when he brought the soup out, but it sounded very robotic, not sincere. I know he really did not care, but as a server you kind of have to pretend.

Thai on Main is great within the context of Utah and Park city. To find good Asian food or for the fact any ethnic food is a challenge. They did a good job on Pad Thai, I asked for Thai spicy and it was indeed spicy, The green papaya salad and the squid dish also came out well done. they truly met my expectations. I had mexican the night before and it was not great. The food was authentic Thai. one truly nice thing is their amazing wine list and selection. Prices for wine was reasonable and i found my favorite wines in the list. The snow was thin on the ground but this restaurant was one of the good highlight of the trip. constructive comment: too many tables close to each other and they need to train waiters to a higher level service.
(4)nini t.
if the prices weren't so outrageous, I'd probably give this place 4 stars. The food was pretty tasty, but then again my bf and I were starving. Service was mixed. We were anxious to get our order in, so I mistakingly placed it with the bus boy who gave us our waters. Our server came later to tell us that and I had to repeat what I wanted. The dishes took forever to arrive. If you are looking to wine and dine, which I'm sure most of the patrons eating on Main St. in Park City are, then this place is perfect. It's high end Thai food. I'm used to the family run joints found in San Francisco and my fave are the street vendors in Thailand. With that said, the food isn't bad. Here's what we split: -Thai dumplings: Never had these before; not what we expected. I was thinking they would resemble Chinese steamed dumplings, but instead, they were like big meatballs...yummy though. -Tom Kha Gai soup: Nice flavor to it. Because I was so famished, I asked the waiter to bring me rice before our main entry was served. I ate the rice with the meatballs and soup, which really helped to fill me up...how Chinese of me. -Green Curry with beef: We asked for medium and boy was it spicy! And I have a pretty high spice tolerance. So I was very happy with that. Our waiter was also considerate to bring another pot of rice with the curry, saying that the previous pot they brought was cold (and I had already devoured most of it). That meal should have cost us $20, instead it was $55. No drinks. Needless to say, I won't be going back. I just wanted some flavorful Asian food for cheap. My bad for expecting to get that on Main St. Guess they have to charge more to pay for the high rent and make it all fancy schmancy for the richer clientele. The decor is nice and there seems to be an extensive wine list. I thought it was odd to look up and see people's feet walking out the windows.

Service, wine and food were all great and while expensive for Thai it was reasonable for a main street hot spot in Park City.

Food was expensive and the taste was ok. I didn't have good experience with this place. My boyfriend and I ordered a prefix menu in which we were told by the waiter that it had special price that day ($30 i/o $55) The bill came. They add 18% gratuity from the FULL price ($110!) First of all, I think gratuity is something the customers should be the ones who decide how much they/we want to give; and not put in by the restaurant, especially for the party of 2. Second of all, they added the gratuity based on the full price. I felt ripped off.

I came here in early 07. Noticed there was a B1G1F up to 4 people in a local ski magazine and decided to try it. My litmus test for Thai food is beef panang. To me, this authentic dish has to have the right flavors and hotness to pass my test. It more than exceeded it! We also ordered a few other dishes including duck. (see pictured) Again, it was really good. My pallet tells me that the cook here has some formal training in Chinese cooking. The food here is 5 stars! However.....here's my gripe about this place. The hostess wasn't friendly. Took her five minutes or so to seat us when the place was empty. She even asked us if we had reservations, which we didn't. I would say at the time we were in there it was 10% full and when we left it was only 20% full. The bathroom was located outside the dining area. It wasn't clean and not a pleasant site. The cost of this place was a bit high. I understand everything on Main street has to bump their prices a bit due to prime property. If it wasn't for the coupon we would not have gone here. Speaking of which, they automatically tack on 18% gratuity before the deduction when using the coupon. That is a no no in my book unless you let the customer know before hand. BTW, pad thai here was $18.

Ate here 8-1-09 after strolling through park city. the place is in the basement of some time shares and you could easily walk past it. my girlfriend said something about Thai when we were walking around and I was on the hunt to find it after that. it looked empty when we walked in and we almost walked out but am glad we didnt, the place filled up shortly after we were seated. To be honest I dont even remember what we had, but we had apps, 2 different entrees and desert, plus drinks and it was both reasonable and very tasty. The waiter was just excellent. You'll see some other snobby reviews here...if you're from Thailand or a professional food critic, this and a million other Thai places are not for you. If you're an average joe who wont gag because they substituted one ingredient in a 20 ingredient dish, you'll do just fine here. Spices (temp wise) were just right too. Def will do again.

Pricey. Decent food; terrible service in the restaurant (snobby, rude, petulant), but pretty great service from our guy in the bar! Don't bother ordering the spring rolls, quite bland and absurdly overpriced. Spice level on entrees is decently accurate, however. Be aware there is a $3 surcharge on tofu even on "vegetarian" dishes! (???). Third time trying this place and I've come to the conclusion that I won't be back. :(

Food good. Service the worst. Punk waiter had us over order for party of 10 since he had guaranteed tip. Tried to reduce order, he said already done. Then poured quarter bottle of wine into water glass and did nothing about it. Totally lame move. Needs to grow up.

The food is pretty good, the prices are high, the service is very poor. We've been coming to PC for more than 10 years, and we usually stop at Bangkok Thai at least once for dinner. The thai pad and curry are better than in other vietnamese-thai restaurants in town. Prices are also at least 50 % higher. I'm not sure that the food quality deserves the extra price. The atmosphere is OK, noisy and crowded. As another reviewer mentioned, you cannot walk or even sit at your table without rubbing shoulders with people in neighboring tables. What really amazes me is how can they consistently maintain a very poor service standard, year after year. Previous examples: the waiter disappears and your order never arrives; you need to chase the waiter to get water; the waiter drops a bottle of white wine on your table, does not offer a taste, and does not bring a bucket of ice. Actually when I asked for a bucket of ice for the wine, another person brought us just ice to put in our cups, not to chill the bottle. Tonight the waitress brought me a bowl of rice for curry but did not bring a lid. You know what happens to hot rice left uncovered? It dries up and cools down in no time. After 5 minutes standing on our table, the rice could only be cut with a knife. The waitress gave me all sorts of silly excuses, the manager offered more apologies, but at the end of the day I paid $1.50 for a bowl of cold, dry, hard rice. The place is usually very busy between 7 and 9, reservations are strongly recommended. If you want similar quality food at lower price, minus the fancy decor, the vietnamese restaurant across the street is a better choice.

Nice atmosphere, EXCELLENT and friendly service in the bar and restaurant. The 3 flavor sea bass was to die for! Order their specialties!

really expensive thai food...and it's not that great either. i had the green curry which was $21 plus $1.75 for white rice. it was decent thai food, but really overpriced for the quality. my friends got pad thai and another noodle dish which was OK, but i was $20 for a plate of noodles! two other friends got the filet, which they seemed to like, it was around $36, which is reasonable for filet. we did also have a bottle of wine, which was really good and reasonabily priced at $30. they do have a very extensive wine list and won best wine for 2008 in the park city area. another crazy thing is that you have to be a member to drink at some of the bars in park city. if you decide to get a drink at bangkok thai bar, just say you're a member. my friends got away with not having to pay the temporary member fee.

Pretty craptastic service and the food is not worth the price. I'm all about a nice restaurant but my biggest pet peeve ISA crappy restaurant that raises it's prices and thinks it's a really nice restaurant. Avoid it this place

First of all, unless they're just jacking up their prices for Sundance, they are the most overpriced Thai restaurant I've ever seen. Like everything has an extra 1 in front of it...i.e. pad thai is something like $18.95 when it should be $8.95 at most (it's a little pile of noodles, after all...it's not like the cost of trucking rice noodles into Utah is super-exhorbitant.) Hence, the extra 1...which seems to be the case with everything on the menu. As to the taste and quality of the food, I have no idea, because no one ever came to give us menus (finally we went and got them ourselves,) and then no one ever came to take our orders. There was a runner bringing food to other people, but he was too frazzled--or didn't care--to send a waiter over. When we finally got up to leave the woman sitting at the table next to us said that she had gone into the kitchen to find her waiter before she was able to put her order in. Yes, it's Sundance, and it's crazy, but it reflects badly on a restaurant overall, I think, when they're so deep in the weeds with the exertion of just a little extra pressure.

$9.99 unlimited Pad Thai in the bar!! Food is good and reasonably priced if you go when they are having this deal.

My friends and I were walking up and down Main Street the week of Sundance and decided to try this place. It was packed and our party of 6 had to wait over 1 hour to get a table that should've comfortably fit 4. We all agreed at the end of our meal, the chocolate mints were the highlight of the meal. We ordered pad see-yew, salmon dish, spicy mint noodles, 3 cups of tom yum soup, thai calamari appetizer and chicken curry. Let's start with the soup, it was the nastiest saltiest/fishiest/sweetest soup I've ever had. I could only drink 2 sips and had to ask for hot water to dilute the soup. Everybody else agreed that it was just too salty. Then come the noodles dishes...to sum it up, everything was mediocre and very unauthentic. Come on, this is Thai cuisine, don't use broccoli, at least use Chinese broccoli. In our curry dish I almost laughed when I saw they used baby carrots and potatoes. Which restaurant uses baby carrots, that's what I use at home when I'm too lazy to chop up fresh carrots! And the potatoes they looked like they were just chopped in half and thrown into the curry. Let's see, then there's the salmon dish, I didn't try any but by the looks of what was left of the salmon by the end of dinner, it was just nasty. A gf that tried it said the salmon tasted "off" probably unfresh. The prices this place charges does not justify the quality of the food. Total bill for 6 people was $230 (no alcoholic drinks, 4 thai iced teas) for food that is worse than a Thai fastfood. The day before 6 of us spent the same amount up the street at Bistro 412, but everybody went home with a satisfied stomach. BTW, when you walk in you'll see a sign that says "Minimum $20 per person during Sundance".

The quality of the food was A-OK but not quite worth the price. We went there during Sundance Film Festival the prices averaged $20-$30 for a plate of noodles. Two of our party ordered the Filet and were quite satisfied with the dish as it was certainly the best value on the menu at $36. If you want an elegant place to enjoy some Thai food this place is for you. I prefer the more authentic hole in the wall shops found in LA and San Francisco. If u want a good steak go to Ruths' Chris.

The food is pretty decent, so I would give this place 4 stars except it tends to be rather pricey. I guess it's what you can expect for downtown Park City. (Look for the coupon in the welcome guide -- it's usuallly B1G1 Free Dinner). Each time we had a very mellow, helpful server, so that added to our experience. He made good recommendations (tom kha soup), and accomodated my young niece's request for something without any spice.

I am echoing much of what has been said - food is OK and WAY overpriced. I don't care if you are in Park City. No mention of a Pad Thai special anywhere in the restaurant - sure that is a local knowledge and local special. Wine list was amazing - but poor service and overpriced and OK food should not be giving this place business. Drive down the mountain than pay this much for average (at best) Thai food.

THIS IS NOT THAI FOOD! It was my first time to Park City and I was craving Asian food- after eating hamburgers two days in a row on the slopes. Since I'm Thai I wasn't expecting the food to be authentic but at least decent. We all ordered stuff we were sure they couldn't mess up. Its okay if it doesn't taste good but at least get the ingredients right! Well, what can I say when i walked in and there were no Thai staff at all. I ordered the Thai chicken BBQ but came out to be two pieces of chicken breast - very over cooked and dry. The only thing that was decent was fried rice then again you cant go wrong with that. Other than that I couldn't really eat -- the Pad Sew was soaked in black bean sauce - kinda like chow mein style and the Spicy Mint Noodles (which does not exist in Thai Cuisine) - its suppose to be basil not mint leaves that you see in your Mojitos. Overall, the only thing i can say about this place is the service was okay but don't come here if want decent Thai food. They put way too much carrots in every dish. It is very very OVERPRICED here. No way its worth it to pay $17-$20 a Thai dish.

I have had Thai food all over the country and in many locations in Salt Lake city, so I was expecting a decent meal. This is one of the most dissapointing meals I have EVER had. We went with another couple for a weekend in Park City. The service was Horrible, the waiter never refilled our water, and dissapeared for 30 minutes after we were ready to pay. The food was another matter, It was of such poor quality, and done so poorly I can't understand how they are still in business. I ordered a Red Curry, ( wanted mixed seafood, which is usually easy to get anywhere, but they only had shrimp, I opted for chicken) I like my curry HOT, and asked for it as hot as they make it. The currey was not even flavorful. It is the only time I have never finished a meal at a Thai restaurant. Of the 4 of us, only my wife had a dish she felt was edible. They even charged EXTRA for rice! We asked to speak with a manager, and 1 hour later nobody would come and even visit our table.

again.... this could be SO good... great location.... BUT there is nothing good about the food, service and especially the attitude of the place.... PLEASE help us get some good Thai food in Park City, we deserve it... !!!! the Thai food at Cafe Trang in Prospector is much better than any thing at Bangkok Thai on Main... the bar & wine get such high ratings because you have to be drunk to keep the food down...
